DBT STEPS-A provides the skills necessary to navigate life's challenges in all its stages and is specifically designed to help adolescents develop coping strategies and decision-making abilities, especially under emotional distress. This 4-part video series will help orient you as to what your child is learning at school with the DBT STEPS-A curriculum and will also provide tips and tools which you might use to help support them at home. Your child is on a journey to acquiring skills which will help them in a myriad of situations across their lifetime. The path starts with increasing self-awareness and mindfulness of current emotions and weaves in skills to practice regulating their emotions, decreasing impulsive behaviors, navigating social situations and advocating for what they want and need while maintaining their self-respect. We invite you to join us on this journey.
